Greeting Fellow Slope Racers!
Here's a summary of Saturday's F3F
at Vincent. The conditions
were a bit funky. The wind was a
little out of the south. Even
though
there was wind on the slope, there
was little lift. We stopped round
zero about half way through
because to many people were barely
making back to land. After waiting
about an hour the CD bravely threw
out his plane and declared the
conditions good enough to start
racing
again. We got in 4 rounds.
Congrats to Gary Legerton for his
win and
for setting the fasting time. The
spreadsheet is linked above.
I would really like to thank Bill
DelHagan and Ray Harju for
arriving
early and helping to set up the
course. We had the course set
before
the next person arrived after
12:00. Tsk Tsk. Also thanks to
everyone
who hauled the race gear up the
hill. And a big thanks to Alexei
for
bringing an EZ-up down the hill
and providing shade for everyone.
The temperature was 100 plus and
the shade was much appreciated.
Richard Chambers got a new PB as
well as 5th place.
We had 3 first timers, Gary
Winton, Bill Highfield and 13 year
old Alex
Neigher (sp?) (and his very nice
mom). All 3 newbies also got new
PBs :-).
