Hello Race Fans,

Today was another great WhitePoint day, with consistent air, gorgeous weather, easy landing, and good friends.

Congrat's to Mike for peeling off another win at Whitepoint. It's safe to say he has this course nailed, and finds those corners better than everyone else on this slope.

Whitepoint offered a technically challenging race today, with shifting winds and varying lift bands.  Ballasting was important, and finding the cleanest line was essential.

The fight for the top 5 spots changed hands frequently today, but the fight against the clock proved the most challenging.  The goal today was to break 50 second air.  Joe Wurts came Oh So Close in one beautifully flown round which he commenced with the battle cry "Fly angry!".  His reward for his precision flying?  A fifty point zero zero.  As in, 50.00 - once again the sub 50 time proved elusive until Tom Copp got a meaty starting dive run, and clocked out a 49.43, shouting out "Take that Slope!" at the end of it.

Bill DelHagen missed several rounds at the end, so his final score is misleading, and JW had to miss the last round, thus having to use some less than perfect scores from earlier in the day.

Bob Bingham's flying proved to be the most entertaining today. He was flying a brand new NYX with the CG a bit aft and WAAAAYYY too much throw.  He was all over the sky and elicited many oh's, ah's, and Oh Sh&T's! from turn judges and spectators alike.

Last year was Dan Fields breakout year.  This year, clearly that honor goes to Mike Sheridan.  Congrat's Mike.  It was fun watching you have fun.

Today was a lot of fun, and it was great seeing more new faces.  Next F3F is July 10th!

Regards,
Nathan Woods
