& tricky landing zone.
Directions from Los Angeles area: With GPS
Coordinates
- Interstate 5 North to 14 Freeway - East
- Crown Valley Parkway/Action Exit (The McDonalds exit)
(34.29.28N 118.11.54W)
- Go south on Crown Valley to the 4th right hand turn,
- Syracuse Ave, opposite the elementary school. (34.28.30N
118.11.83W)
- Take the first paved Left turn "Hubbard Street"
note: the street sign was run over recently, it may not
be visible, but it's the 1st paved left hand turn opportunity.
(34.28.25N 118.12.05W)
- Wind up this road until it turns into a DIRT ROAD.
- 3/10ths of a mile later, turn LEFT on "Hughes
Canyon" (34.28.48N 118.13.55W)
- At 4/10th of a mile on Hughes, the road forks at the
crest of a hill. (34.28.33N 118.13.52W)
- Take the trail on the LEFT. This
first 50 feet is the most difficult for a low ground
clearance vehicle, because it's steep AND bumpy. After
this point, it's only bumpy.
- Continue on this trail for exactly 1.5 miles. (34.27.51N
118.13.10W)
- Park to the North end of the saddle,
crosswise to the ridge. Allow for as many cars on top
as possible. First one up, is last one down :-)
