| White Point is a great spot to
race, thanks to incredibly consistent ocean breezes. Never incredibly
fast, but extremely dependable for good close racing. This is a kid
friendly kind of place, with play structures, drinking fountains, restrooms,
ocean tide pools, and fantastic views. Parking down below for the
family access to the tide pools is $7, but pilots park along the street for
free. This is a shear cliff, so plane recovery can
be difficult if you lose it on the front side. Bring a quality camping
rope and climbing harness, or kiss your plane goodbye.
Landing is very easy, but takes some getting used to.
Fly straight back perpendicular to the slope edge, over the outfield, then
do a 180, and land in the outfield coming back towards you. Don't land
in the infield! The access gate is on the south side of the outfield.
